This year Pesaro was elected as Italian Capital of Culture 2024.
Pesaro 2024 will be a shared journey with the province as a polycentric territory on the theme The Nature of Culture, designed to express the desire to explore all interactions between art, nature and technology.
The nature of culture is the theme that holds together the events on the calendar, to explore the interactions between art, nature and technology. And five are the adjectives, referring precisely to nature, identified to explore these relationships: ubiquitous (in the relationship with public space), unpredictable (in the rediscovery of abandoned places), industrious (in the commitment to connect different disciplines), living (in reference to the development of a new ecological consciousness), and mobile (to rethink the sense of proximity and experience distances with a new approach).
Among the most anticipated events is Marina Abramović’s mixed reality performance, which debuted in 2019 in London: in Pesaro it will be hosted at the Pescheria Visual Arts Center.
