An ambitious project was born out of collaboration with an established partner such as Schneider Electric.
Always focused on performance and flexibility, Omag has decided to push its goals to another level toward an additional goal: sustainability.
Together with Schneider Electric, we charted the sustainability profile of our packaging machines by assessing their impact throughout their life cycle (LCA).

The results speak for themselves
Indeed, the assessment showed that Omag produces 65% of its components in-house, and that it manages to obtain completely transparent information on all materials used in machine development. In addition, it also showed how the company creates its solutions with a design that includes the use of recycled components, with the goal of achieving ‘near-zero waste’ from a circular economy perspective. In addition, the evaluation highlighted that Omag implements energy-efficient solutions, such as Schneider Electric’s brushless motors, achieving energy savings of 20%.
Finally, as a capping achievement, it turned out that the company employs constant research and development in its design: the modularity of the assemblies that make up the packaging machine simplifies the eventual repair, replacement and cleaning of components.

The analysis made it possible to become aware of the environmental impact of every single step of the machine making process and to act consciously on several fronts with the goal of increasing energy efficiency, reducing the consumption of raw materials by involving the supply chain in a path based on real sustainability and value creation goals.
The 360-degree environmental impact assessment demonstrated not only the sustainability of the packaging machine under analysis, but of the company as a whole.
